SpringConnect 2012 Update for QuickBooks Online

SpringConnect must be updated to the latest version to continue to provide seamless integration between SpringAhead and your accounting software. The update will provide a more secure, more reliable connection. This guide will show you how to update your locally-installed SpringConnect application.

Requirements Prior to the Update Process

Before you begin the update process, ensure that you:

• Are able to log into your QuickBooks Online account as an Administrator
• Or have an administrator present to gain access to QuickBooks Online
   

Downloading and Installing the Latest Version of SpringConnect

1. Open SpringConnect
   • Go to your computer’s Start menu, go to All Programs, look for the SpringAhead folder, and open SpringConnect
   • Another way to access SpringConnect is to log into your SpringAhead account, click on Settings, and then click on Sync with Accounting
      
2. You should be prompted to download the new version immediately
   • If not, click on Options, go to Settings, and click on Check For Update
      
3. Download the new version and install the application
    

Updating the Connection for QuickBooks Online 

1. Once SpringConnect has been installed, click Synchronize. You will be prompted to create a new connection ticket for QuickBooks Online to allow SpringConnect to integrate with it
2. Click Set Up Connection
   
    
3. Log into your QuickBooks Online account as the administrator or have the administrator present to perform this function
4. Click Continue
5. The Connection field should say SpringConnect. Click on Use Selected Connection
   
    
6. Allow access rights to All Accounting, and click Continue
   
    
7. Ensure that you turn off login security. Select No. Anyone who can run SpringConnect on this computer can use this connection
   • Note: Selecting this option does not turn off login security for QuickBooks Online. It simply allows the SpringConnect application to log in with read and write access to QuickBooks Online
     
      
8. A dialog box will appear. Click I still want to turn off login security
   
    
9. Click Create Connection
10. Click Copy to Clipboard to copy the Connection Key
    
     
11. Click Finished
    
     
12. Paste the Connection Key into SpringConnect, and click OK
    
     
13. The synchronization process will continue. Enter your SpringAhead login credentials when prompted

After full synchronization, you will have the latest version of SpringConnect and your QuickBooks will be prepped for future synchronization.
